As we move through the 2025–2026 school year, several candidates are running for positions on the Augusta Board of Education. Incumbents include Susan Hostetter, Angie Johnston, and Darrell Kohls. Additional candidates are Brent Basquez, A.J. Bodyk, Chris Cody, Andee Kant, Shawna Lewis, and Kara Winter.

In addition, The Augusta Education Association will be hosting a School Board Community Forum on Sunday, October 19, from 2:00–3:30 p.m. in the Augusta High School auditorium. This event will feature the nine candidates running for the local school board and will provide an opportunity for community members to hear directly from them about their vision and priorities for our schools. Staff, families, and community members are encouraged to attend.
