Thank you for supporting your students during this exciting first nine weeks of student engagement, projects, competitions, connections with our community, and sporting events. Parent-teacher conferences are next week, and we look forward to this opportunity to share about the learning and growth occurring with our Augusta students. One of our areas of focus this year is refreshing our MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support). Attached is an infographic with hyperlinks to more details; just hover over the various headings to access the links. These are also found on our district website under parent resources. As part of providing a WINNing learning environment for students (WINN stands for What I Need Now), we are onboarding Fastbridge, a universal screener for Math and Reading K-12. The reading screener does meet the Kansas qualifications as a screener for dyslexia. All students will take the screener three times a year, fall, winter, and spring, to provide teachers feedback on students’ progress and needs, which will drive the instruction we provide for your students. We are learning how to use the screeners' data to best support each student's needs. This means we meet students where they are and provide focused and specific instruction to strengthen areas of weakness and enrich and stretch their talents and strengths! Please review the MTSS Guide infographic for details. We hope to see all of you at our Parent-teacher Conferences, where you will receive an update on your student’s learning and growth and the Fastbridge Screener data. Elementary classroom teachers will provide the screener results to elementary students, and at the secondary level, the English Language Arts teachers will provide the reading results, and the math teachers will provide the math results to families. Below is an infographic regarding what the Fastbridge parent report will provide. Understanding Fastbridge Family Report
